Water-Jet Liposuction at Chicagoland Aesthetics
Body-Jet is the cosmetic surgery industry’s only water-jet assisted liposuction system, also known as Water-Assisted Liposuction (WAL). Instead of traditional liposuction performed in hospitals under general anesthesia, Body-Jet uses a small fan-shaped water jet that pulses pressure against the fat tissue, allowing fat cells to wash off gradually and be suctioned out immediately. This technique is becoming the new standard for liposuction due to its high effectiveness, fast recovery rates, and costs savings over traditional liposuction. We are one of the only facilities in the Chicagoland area to offer this more gentle form of liposuction.
Benefits of Body-Jet
The Body-Jet process is different from standard liposuction in that less overall injectable anesthetic and infiltration fluid (tumescence) is used. This allows the fat cells to be removed much more gently as they are separated from the tissue by the water instead of by chemical interaction. This also causes less post-operative swelling since less infiltration fluid persists in the body. It is quite common for individuals to return to work just a few days after the procedure. Water liposuction is minimally invasive, avoids risks of going under general anesthesia at hospitals, and saves the patient thousands of dollars in hospital/anesthesia fees.
The benefits to using the water-pulsing methods of Body-Jet are far reaching: while performing the procedure, the gradual loosening of fatty cells by the equipment allows the body to possess much less liquid at any given time during surgery than is normally necessary for liposuction. This helps the doctor make more informed judgments in the sculpture of the underlying tissues as there is less excess mass he must account for on the fly, leading to superior cosmetic results.
Additionally, the process of using water-pulse sculpting tools promotes a smooth, natural appearance as opposed to the less delicate nature of dry suction cannula and aspirator liposuction. Since Body-Jet is gentle and does not crush or destroy fat like traditional liposuction, the fat removed during your procedure can be used for a Fat Transfer as a natural breast enhancement or filler procedure.
Candidates for Body-Jet
These improvements in the methodology of liposuction have not changed the general requirements of candidacy for the procedure. Good candidates generally will:
- Be over the age of 18
- Have an active diet and exercise regimen
- Looking to shed the “stubborn” fat that won’t come off despite exercise and dieting.
- Not be afflicted with diabetes or heart problems
Additionally, our facility offers Cool-Lipo technology for skin tightening that can be used in conjunction with the Body-Jet procedure. Both technologies work well with each other in producing a more satisfying cosmetic result for the patient.
Choosing Your Provider
At Chicagoland Aesthetics, your Body-Jet procedure will be performed exclusively by a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon. Unlike other practices that may delegate this responsibility to a different type of surgeon or a physician who may not even be a surgeon to save time and money, we truly believe that cosmetic procedures such as Body-Jet are best left up to the judgement and skilled hands of a board-certified plastic surgeon. Secondly, we are very experienced, and can show you before and after pictures of satisfied patients during your private consultation. *Additionally, all three of our offices have fully equipped surgical suites and body-jet machines on- site. If you live in the city of Chicago, your procedure can be performed in Chicago. If you live in the suburbs, your procedure can be performed in the suburbs. Liposuction is an elective cosmetic operation. You have a choice. It is our recommendation that you choose a practice with board-certified plastic surgeons with the appropriate experience and patient volume for the best results.
