What Is KYBELLA®
It is the first and only non-surgical treatment approved by the FDA to treat fat underneath the chin, otherwise known as “double chin” or submental fat. KYBELLA®, also known as deoxycholic acid, is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps with the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, KYBELLA® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once, destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.
What To Expect
KYBELLA® is administered as an injection into the fat tissue in the submental area. It is a minimally invasive treatment requiring no downtime. Treatment sessions typically last 20 minutes, and a package of 5 treatments is recommended. During your treatment sessions, we will administer KYBELLA® into the fat under your chin using multiple injections. Many patients experience visible results in 2 to 4 treatment sessions. 66% of KYBELLA® treated patients experienced at least a 1-grade composite improvement after 5 treatments, according to KYBELLA® clinical trial results. Up to 6 treatment sessions may be administered spaced no less than one month apart.
